NPFL: Ogunbote Reiterates 3SC modest Target

Shooting Stars head Coach, Gbenga Ogunbote has stressed that the club have to simply do better than they currently do in terms of results.

3SC are unbeaten, yet winless in the opening weeks of the new NPFL season. They have recorded consecutive draws in their first two games of the season, with the latest coming against Kwara United.

“We need to sit up because we are in an abridged league and we do not need any more mistakes,” Ogunbote told Brila FM.

Gbenga Ogunbote reiterated his target for the season with the Oluyole Warriors and maintained that he wants to finish the season in an appreciable position.

“It was not a mind game, I just like to set realistic target, we have to look at the previous position of the club.

“The target that is being expressed to the public is not always the same worked internally, and it goes with the saying that if you aim beyond the sky when you fall, you fall among the stars, and that has always been a guide,” the 3SC Coach said.

He also spoke about his style of football; something that is not always the case with many managers in the country.

Ogunbote noted that it is important to entertain the fans who pay to watch.

“We need to satisfy the fans of the game, so if you want to do that you want to think of playing beautifully and being successful at it.

“Although it has to do with the kind of resources at hand to make it a possibility, at the end of the day you work with what you have.”
