Kwara United have now been granted access to use the Akure Township Stadium as their new home ground for the rest of the NPFL 2022/2023 season.

The Ilorin-based club had initially adopted the Lekan Salami stadium in Ibadan as their home ground, where they recorded just a win in four league games in the first stanza of the league season with their home stadium still under construction.

Kwara United had to play their continental games at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos, before the current NPFL season got under way.

They however crashed out in the preliminary stages of both the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.

When the NPFL season resumes later this month, Kwara United will play their first game in Akure where they’ll host El-Kanemi Warriors.
