NPFL Match Report: Yobe Desert Stars 0-1 Kano Pillars – Adamu Hassan strikes as Pillars edge closer playoffs

Kano Pillars narrowly edged out Yobe Desert Stars in the Northern derby to edge closer to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) playoffs.

Adamu Hassan scored his second goal of the season to hand all the three points to the Masu Gida in Damaturu on Thursday.

Masu Gida are second in Group B with 34 points from 20 games, while relegated Desert Stars have a paltry 15 points.

Shot stopper Idrissu Ibrahim was the preferred choice over Danladi Isa for the number one position.

Pillars dominated the entire game and were deserved winners after the final whistle.

Former Nasarawa United forward scored from Alassan Ibrahim’s assist to separate the two aides 10 minutes into the first half.

Pillars face Delta Force at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Sunday whereas bottom placed Yobe Desert Stars are away to Plateau United.
