After much deliberation among the NPFL stakeholders, a consensus has finally been agreed upon for the kick-off date for next season.
Rising from a closed door meeting on Wednesday, the Interim Management Company, announced that 8th January has been agreed as the commencement of the 2022/2023 NPFL season.
Initially a 28th December date was tentatively agreed as well as an abridged version of the League, but both proposals have now been dismissed.
As a result of Wednesday’s deliberation, the IMC has ratified that league fixtures will be drawn on 28th December.
In addition, a take off grant of ₦10million was also agreed to be disbursed to teams ahead of the new season.
