Alex Iwobi has dismissed claims that the Super Eagles were put under pressure by Guinea-Bissau in the 1-0 defeat at home.

Guinea-Bissau stunned Nigeria in their first-leg encounter of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in Abuja, Friday.

Mama Balde scored the only goal of the game, in the 30th minute, and it was the only real shot on target for the visitors.

Although Nigeria dominated possession and created more opportunities, the Striker’s also failed to trouble the Guinea-Bissau goalkeeper.

But, fielding questions after the match, Iwobi shut down suggestions that the team ranked 118th in the world, worked a perfect game plan and have enjoyed some psychological edge.

“We created so many chances and Guinea (Bissau) got like three; if you check the stats we had opportunities to score. But, It’s one of those days, we didn’t score, we bad luck.

“I’m sure if we play them again, luck will be on our side.”

” But no, we didn’t play under any pressure. We just want to get ready for the return leg, and go out there and win.”

“Every player out there put their heart in in, we have to react first. We were disappointed, but we want the fans o stay supporting us.”
