FC Lorient were without Terem Moffi when they took on Stade Rennais in a Ligue 1 fixture on Friday.

With growing speculation over a likely move away from the club this January, Moffi has been dropped from consecutive games by Lorient manager Régis Le Bris – the Forward missed the Coupe de France game at Bastia.

Yet, in spite of the absence of their top scorer on the pitch at Stade de Moustoir, Les Merlus didn’t seem to miss him.

An Early goal from Montassar Talbi (13′) was followed by Théo Le Bris’ strike in the 31st minute to give the hosts a healthy first half lead.

Le Bris brought on Innocent Bonke after the restart, and the DM added some steel to the midfield area.

Bonke made his 18th appearance of the season, on the night and he was solid.

He made 4 tackles, 2 interceptions, 1 clearance, 2 blocks and won 1 aerial duel, for a 6.6 rating in 45minutes.

Meanwhile, Rennes got what would prove only a consolation as Flavien Tait halved the deficit in the 72nd minute, but the visitors eventually got nothing from the game.

FC Lorient moved up to sixth on the standings with 35points from 20 games played so far, and are two wins outside of the top four at the moment.

The win on Friday helped them bounce back from the 3-1 defeat to Olympique Marseille – the last time Moffi has featured for Lorient.
