Villarreal were on the road last weekend in LaLiga playing away at Getafe, but the Yellow Submarines were left frustrated.
The game ended goalless, bringing an end to Villarreal’s perfect run of 5-game winning streak.
Despite dominating the stats for possession and chances created, Unai Emery couldn’t break the resilience of Getafe’s defending.
So far this season, Emery has established Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze will get a bench role and the youngster did on Sunday.
Chukwueze was a second half substitute, coming on in final thirty-three minutes of the game, but couldn’t impact it as expected.
The 23 year-old has only an assist to show for his minutes this season in LaLiga, though he scored in the Europa Conference League playoff game against Hajduk Split last week.
However, Villarreal remain unbeaten in the current campaign and will have another go at picking up a W, when they host Elche in LaLiga on Sunday.
