Also a member of Nigeria’s golden generation, Siasia featured at the Country’s first ever World Cup appearance in 1994. Speaking in a chat with FL, he stressed that it would have been a rather disgraceful outing for the country in Qatar. ‘We would have been embarrassed out of the World Cup with shocking score lines,’ the former star said. ‘The Super Eagles have no business going to the world cup and losing out to the Ghana team we played against is enough proof.’ Morocco went farther among the African teams at the just concluded World Cup. The Atlas Lions finished fourth, setting an African record in the tournament’s history. Meanwhile, Argentina beat holders, France, to be crown World Champions in 2022.
