Super Eagles interim Head Coach Austin Eguavoen said he will stick with the current Squad and expects to invite only a few new faces ahead of the team’s AFCON campaign.

Eguavoen, who was appointed by the NFF on Sunday as replacement for the sacked Gernot Rohr, will lead Nigeria to the AFCON 2021 which gets underway in January.
Speaking on Brila FM’s “No Holds Barred” with former Nigeria left-back Ifeanyi Udeze, the Super Eagles handler insists the only personnel changes will be minimal.
“90 percent of the players in team have been together, we’ll stick with the team that has been together, but we will bring in a few maybe 5,” Eguavoen said during the Show on Thursday.
“Only a few new faces will get called up. Our players aren’t as bad as some of the results maybe have appeared.”
Rohr was fired after five years at the helms with the Super Eagles, but reports emerged of the breakdown of discipline and lack of professionalism in the squad in the final months of the 68 year-old’s time with the team.
Eguavoen echoed the same sentiments and stressed the need to rein the squad in.
“I hate to say it was a problem, but we want to inject discipline. Something went wrong and we have to fix that.”
