Nigeria’s Players scorecard: Umar, Igboun scores, Ndidi, Iheanacho, Odey lose, Onyekuru fails to score


Nigerian international Wilfred Onyinye Ndidi was in action for the entire duration of the game as Leicester City lost 2 – 1 away to Watford in the English Premier League on Sunday in new boss Brendan Rogers’ first game in charge. Ndidi’s countryman Kelechi Iheanacho was brought on for Jamie Vardy in the 85th minute.

Nigerian striker Sadiq Umar was in action for Perugia in the Italian Serie B and got his name on the scoresheets in the 31st minute of the 3 – 1 win over Salernitana on Sunday. The striker on loan from Roma was sent off later in the game in the 54th minute for a second yellow card offense in the space of two minutes.

Nigerian international Stephen Odey was in action for the entire duration of the match but fired blanks as FC Zuerich lost at home to 10-man Lugano in the Switzerland Super League. FC Zuerich is currently 6thon the table with 39 points and 33 points behind table-toppers Young Boys.

Super Eagles forward Henry Onyekuru was in action for Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday but failed to score as his team played out a 1 – 1 draw away to Erzurum. Onyekuru’s compatriot Emem Eduouk was in action for Erzurum and lasted 90 minutes before being substituted for Siphiwe Tshabalala.

Nigerian winger Chukwuemeka Emmanuel Akabueze was in action for Boluspor against Istanbulspor in a 2 -1 home win in the Turkish first Lig on Sunday. Akabueze scored the team’s first goal in the 4thminute of the game.

Nigerian forward Sylvester Igboun was on target for FC Ufa in the Russian Premier League in their 2 – 1 home loss to FC Dinamo Moscow on Sunday. The Nigerian international scored his team’s only goal in the 32nd minute.
