Millions of Nigerians were thrown into a glorious frenzy after Manchester United turned a two nil first-leg loss to Paris Saint-Germain at the Old Trafford to win 3 – 1 at the Le Parc de Princes on Wednesday qualifying 4 – 3 on aggregate.

United took an early lead after a terrible mistake from the Parisians defense to allow Romelu Lukaku slot in his first goal of the night in the 2nd minute of the game. Juan Bernat equalized for the home side in the 12th minute but Lukaku was on ground to extend the lead for the English team in the 30th minute.

The turnaround was complete when Marcus Rashford converted a 94th-minute penalty to hand United a quarter-final ticket. With the win, Manchester United becomes the first team in Champions League history to recover from a two-goal home defeat and then qualify for the next stage.

A Nigerian Manchester United fan @queen_nikki on Twitter went spiritual and prayerful with the result in Paris. She wrote; “The God that disappointed Manchester United haters will disappoint the plans of your enemies towards you this year.”

@9jacrib tweeted; “I’m an Arsenal fan, but I have to give it to Man Utd this night, this is incredible… Just wow. OGS can do no wrong. Great Manager!! Champions league.”

An extremely excited Manchester United fan @kfayiga could not hide his excitement also hoping that the club management will hand over the job to Ole Gunnar Solskjear on a permanent basis. “If the United board doesn’t give Solskjaer a permanent contract first thing tomorrow morning, they should voluntarily vacate their respective positions.”
