Nigeria is going to the AFCON to win – Eguavoen

Nigeria’s ambition at next year’s Africa Cup of Nations is to win the title says Super Eagles head Coach Austin Eguavoen.

Nigeria are three times champions, but will not considered favorites in Cameroon with Algeria, Senegal and Morocco ahead in the perking order.

Speaking on Brila FM’s “No Holds Barred” with former Super Eagles player Ifeanyi Udeze, the interim Coach Austin Eguavoen insists the team aspires to win but guarantees they’ll “make fans happy”.
“Yes. You don’t go to war without thinking about winning. We have to also take it step by step. Most teams going to the AFCON there aspire to win it. But we have to take it a game at a time.”
“It’s hard to say yes or no, but we guarantee to make them happy.
“Luck also plays a part, we’ll do our own work and we are certain of the support and we’ll just take the games one at a time.”
