Nigeria, France lock horns in FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup group Opener

Nigeria has been drawn alongside France, Canada and South Korea in Group C of the 2022 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.

The draw held, Thursday, at the Teatro Nacional de Costa Rica in San José and Nigeria who are two-time finalist will be considered one of the favorites to emerge from the first round.
Falconets will get their bid for a maiden World Cup title on August 11 against France at the San Jose Estadio Nacional.

 

Three days later they face South Korea and the fixture against Canada is scheduled for August 17 and both games will be played at Alajuela Morera Soto.
Africa’s second representative, Ghana were handed a tougher draw as they will face defending champions Japan, three-time winners USA and the Netherlands in group D.
The tournament gets under way on August 10 and will be hosted in Two Cities, San Jose and Alajuela in the Central American country.
