Nigeria Drops in Latest FIFA Ranking

Nigeria has dropped five spots in the latest FIFA ranking to occupy 40th place in the World.

The Eagles are also currently in 6th place among African teams, while Morocco stands in he summit as number one and also the eleventh best in the world.

Behind the Atlas Lions in the African rankings are Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt and Nigeria respectively.

The drop means that the Super Eagles have now fallen behind Egypt, who had a perfect run in the recent Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches.

The Eagles’ last opponent Guinea Bissau, rose from 118th to 113th, moving to 25th in Africa.

Meanwhile, World Champions Argentina is the number ranked team followed by France, Brazil, Belgium, England, the Netherlands, Croatia, Italy, Portugal, and Spain, thus making up the top ten.

Other countries that have made it onto the list of the top twenty teams in the world include Morocco, Switzerland, the United States of America, Germany, Mexico, Uruguay, Colombia, Senegal, Denmark, and Japan.
