Nigeria central defender William Troost-Ekong was again on the losing end as Udinese suffered a 2-0 loss at SS Lazio on Wednesday night.
The ex Haugesund, KAA Gent and Bursaspor defender saw full action in the top flight game but was unable to help his side to victory.
Felipe Caicedo scored off the post midway through the first half and Udinese midfielder Sandro added an own goal by inadvertently redirecting in a corner.
Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha saved a second-half penalty by Rodrigo de Paul.
Ekong’s team are now without a win in their last two games and battling relegation.
It even gets harder for Udinese who are 16th in the Serie A table, three points above the drop zone.
Troost-Ekong was born in Haarlem, Netherlands but he is a native of Akwa Ibom State in Nigeria.
The central defender played for Dutch U19 and U20 national teams in non-competitive fixtures before switching allegiance to Nigeria in 2014.
He started every single game at the 2016 Olympic Games, going the distance in six matches.
