Nigeria beats Ghana in U20 WAFU B Group Opener

Nigeria began their quest for WAFU B U-20 title with a 2-0 victory over holders Ghana at the Stade General Seyni Kountche stadium on Sunday.

The Nigeria Flying Eagles hit the ground running from the kick off and deservedly took an early lead and also controlled the tempo of the game.
Ibrahim Muhammad (7′) and Ahmed Abdullahi (78′) grabbed the goals for Ladan Bosso’s side to put the team in pole position for progress into the semi-final.
Muhammad opened the scoring in the with a fine finish before substitute Abdullahi doubled the lead and put the result beyond doubt.
The Flying Eagles will next their Burkina Faso counterpart in their second group B game at Stade Seyni Kountche stadium on Wednesday.
A win will guarantee Nigeria a last four spot and a place in the 2023 Africa U20 Cup of Nations, which comes up later this year in Egypt.
