An 85th minute free kick settled the hard fought contest between Nea Salamis and Omonia Nicosia in the Cypriot First Division game on Sunday.
Omonia fought back after going behind in the 41st minute, finding the equalizer in the 82nd minute, but, Francis Uzoho was beaten by Thiago Santos to win the game for the host.
Uzoho did not have much to do in the game, however, the goalie couldn’t stop his side’s collapse on the day – now back to back defeats to Nea Salamis this season.
Prior last weekend’s encounter, the 24 year-old had kept four consecutive clean sheets and helped his side secure maximum points in that stretch.
So far this campaign in his 15 appearances for the club, Uzoho has conceded 14 times and kept a record 8 clean sheets.
Meanwhile Omonia maintain their place in the championship playoff spot in the top flight. They are 5th in the standings on 34points from 20 round of matches.
