Moses Simon was on the receiving end of a thrashing as the Nigerian winger returned from the international break to a disheartening result with Nantes, against Reims in Ligue 1 on Sunday.

Simon played for only an hour before Nantes manager Antoine Kombouare opted to bring the Winger off.

He has now gone 16 games without a goal for the Canaries, in a drought that stretches as far back as November 2022.

It was a tactical move that yielded little result still for the struggling Canaries.

They were hit twice in the first half, Alexis Flips scoring a brace (38′,39′) to build a comfortable lead for the visitors at the Stade de la Beaujoire.

A third goal went in after twelve minutes of the restart, Marshal Munetsi with the goal to seal the three points.

The defeat leave Kombouare’s men in 14th place, four points of the bottom four.
