Chiamaka Nnadozie has revealed in a chat that, her father had reservations about her becoming a footballer.

Nnadozie continues to impress since making her senior national team debut as a teenager at 18 year-old and has since been a mainstay in the Super Falcons team; nailing down the number 1 shirt.

However, as is the case of many young girls in the country, young Chiamaka never had the blessings of both her parents at the same time, even when all her siblings loved and played the game even as kids.

“Well, right from day one, my mom supported me because in my family, we have a lot of footballers, but they are not playing professionally,” the Super Falcons Goalkeeper told BRL.

“You know, my cousins, they all play football, even in the village league. Sometimes you will see like eight people wearing Nnadozie, you know. Like it runs in the family.

“So my mom supported me from day one, but my dad never wanted me to play.”

“However, at the end of the day, when I got my first national team call up in the end of 17, he saw me playing on the screen. And he was like, okay, now I believe girls play football. And I’m grateful today, you know, he’s in support of everything.”
