Musa claims Falconets lacked proper motivation for World Cup

Nigeria’s U20 Women’s NT coach, Chris Musa has suggested that the team did not receive adequate technical support to excel at the recently concluded FIFA under 20 women world cup.

Nigeria upset France, Korea Republic and Canada on their way to topping the group and reaching the quarter final, only to be ousted 2-0 by Netherlands.

The Falconets gaffer in a chat with FL, explained that the team needed to prepare properly against teams of diverse tactics, system, and abilities, but revealed technical support wasn’t adequate.

‘It was not possible to study the opponent mid game, it needed to be from the scratch, and that would have been possible, however, it would be better if the appropriate instruments were made available, a video analyst for instance.

Musa went on to explain that he and the rest of the coaching crew tried their best, but football matches, sometimes cannot always go on as planned.

He referenced other matches where the team had to resort to long range shots to breach the opposing defence and goalkeepers.

In the game against the Netherlands, Musa’s team registered 24 shots with 11 of them on target. On the other hand, the Europeans got only 3 of their 5 shots on target.
