Mr. Reliable! Iwobi delivers first PL win for Everton

Everton have picked up their first Premier League win of the season and it’s only fitting that Alex Iwobi, one of the best players in the team, had a hand in it.

Iwobi played in his seventh game – across all competitions – in Sunday’s 1-0 win against West Ham at Goodison Park.

He completed the entire duration of the game and picked up the assist for Neal Maupay’s matching winning goal.

Crucial as he was in the game, the 26 year-old, also had some support from the steel in Everton’s midfield – Idrissa Gueye and Amadou Onana – adding some steel in the middle third.

Everton’s goal came in the second half, a fine strike from the edge of the box by Maupay in the 53rd minute and it was a delight for the home crowd.

Both sides went close on a few occasions, Iwobi himself going close last on, but it was his game management role that would later highlight his performance against the Hammers.

The win comes as a reward for the Toffees who are now unbeaten in five games, but picked only their first win after four consecutive draws.
