Simon scored and also provided an assist as the Canaries fought their way back to victory in front of home fans at the Stade de la Beaujoire. Three times they had to come from behind, it was the Nigerian’s assist for Kalifa Coulibaly’s goal and Nantes third goal that eventually turned the tie in favor of the hosts. After a seven-game goal drought, the Nigerian Winger eventually notched his 4th goal in 28 appearances of the season – his 12th goal contribution. Simon scored in the 76th minute to give his side the lead before Osman Bukari (89′) sealed the win. The win cements the Canaries in 10th spot on the standings after 34 rounds of matches and are still within touching distance of a UEFA Europa Conference League qualification place.
