Morocco right back, Achraf Hakimi has fired a note of warning to World Cup round of 16 foes, Spain – the country of his birth.
Hakimi, ahead of the crunch tie, has warned that the former World champions should be afraid of them.
He noted that there’s an atmosphere of confidence within the camp, especially as they topped a group with Croatia; a team considered as dark horses for the world cup, as well as Belgium.
The defender also said there is a winning belief within the dressing room, that has been instilled by coach Walid Regragui.
Hakimi said via Sport that, “We were first in the group, and I think we already deserve a little respect. I think Spain knows it, and they’ve to be a little afraid of us.
“They have to be afraid of us, the truth. And why not give the surprise again?”
“The coach has transmitted a winning mentality to us, and it doesn’t matter who comes, we’ve to play our game,” He said.
