Former Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr says the disturbing images of fans tearing apart the MKO Abiola Stadium and the attack on the Ghanaian players after the game on Tuesday is capable of denting the Nigeria’s reputation.

Fans invaded the pitch causing a Melee after the final whistle of Nigeria’s 1-1 result with Ghana in the second leg of their World Cup play-off and Rohr described them as sore losers.
“Now I see in the newspapers, the pictures of what happened after the match in Abuja and it’s not good for the image of Nigerian football and of all the Country,” Rohr told FL.
“And I’m a little bit disappointed about this also because after all there’s a result, a game, there’s the friendship to have even if you lose, you must stay in dignity and you must recognize that the other team had the better evening and the better result.”
The Super Eagles missed out on a spot at Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup following the 1-1 aggregate outcome over two legs vs the Black Stars.
