Former Super Falcons midfielder, Maureen Madu, has suggested that Randy Waldrum’s comment referring to Nigeria’s group at the FIFA Women’s World Cup group is “scary” as mind games.
Nigeria is drawn in group B with against Canada, co-hosts Australia and the Republic of Ireland.
In his assessment of the group, Waldrum has foreseen a rather difficult route for the Falcons, to qualifying for the next stage of the tournament.
Speaking with FL, Madu stated that the coach alone knows what he is trying to achieve with such a statement which is contrary to Onome Ebi’s target of reaching the World Cup semi-final.
Maureen Madu added that the players are the ones who will play the game and determine their own fate.
