Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel has been left short of words with the love and admiration shown to him by Middlesbrough fans since joining the team in a free transfer in January on his return to European football after spending two seasons in the Chinese Super League.
Mikel was in the middle of the pack for the Boro as they got an away win against Blackburn Rovers in the Championship to retain their hold on the 5th position which will see them take a part in the promotion playoffs where the best teams will get to qualify for the EPL in the coming season.
Several videos of fans singing the praises of the Nigerian international flooded the social media space on Sunday but that of two little girls singing his name caught his fancy and the former Chelsea FC player had said he was indeed happy with the love that has been shown to him and his teammates since moving to the team.
He also had beautiful things to say about the girls. “Beyond adorable cute performance, thank you to these two little stars. So much love and support from our Boro fans for the team and myself”
Also reacting to Middlesbrough’s 1 – 0 away win at Blackburn Rovers’ Ewood Park the Super Eagles captain wrote; “Great performance from the team and amazing 3 points”
