Former Barcelona star Ronaldinho has given his thought on who the Greatest player of all time is and it won’t go down well with many Blaugrana faithfuls.
Ronaldinho spent five seasons at the Camp Nou where he won the FIFA World Player of the Year as well as the Ballon d’Or among other top individual honors.
The 39 year-old was also teammates with six-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi and has rated the Argentine as the best player of his era, but not the greatest of all time.
Speaking with Spanish media outlet, Marca, per football-italia.net, the 2002 FIFA World Cup winner said, “I’m glad Messi won the Ballon d’Or.
“We were also friends during our time at Barcelona.
“But I don’t like to compare, and I find it difficult to say he is the best of all time.”
The former Brazil international named three players whom he rated above the Barcelona captain in the GOAT debate.
“There were [Diego] Maradona, Pele, Ronaldo… it’s hard to say that Messi is the best throughout the history of football. I can say he is the best of his era.”
