Massive season’s End Achievement for Sebastian Osigwe

Sebastian Osigwe was crowned Swiss Cup champion – his first career title – at the weekend and the 28 year-old Nigerian Goalkeeper can dream of a debut European campaign next season.

Osigwe himself was on the bench in the final against St. Gallen, who were last season’s runner up.
But Lugano made it a worthwhile experience as they put four past the opponents to wrap up an easy 4-1 victory.
In the run in to the final, Lugano beat holder Luzern 4-3 on penalties after a 2-2 regulation time result.
The victory ended a seven-year wait for a silverware and their Fourth Swiss Cup, making them the 9th most successful team in the competition’s history.
Meanwhile for the Nigerian goalkeeper, he made one appearance in the Cup – the 4-3 quarter-final win against Thun.
Sebastian Osigwe has entered the final year of his contract, which runs out June 2023.
He could get a contract extension with the club heading into next season’s UEFA Europa Conference League, Third Qualifying Round.
