French outlet L’Equipe confirmed, Tuesday, that Olympique Marseille have reached an agreement with FC Lorient for a deal to sign forward Terem Moffi.
Marseille will proceed to reach personal terms agreement with Moffi in order to close the deal.
It will be recalled that FL reported on a three-way bidding war between Marseille, OGC Nice and West Ham for the 23 year-old’s signature in the current window.
Terem Moffi has just 18 months left in his deal at Lorient, but FL gathered that the Forward favors a move to Nice.
But, L’Equipe are reporting that Marseille President, Pablo Longoria confirmed the offer, although the actual fee was not disclosed, it’s believed to match the same offer their rivals had presented in a cash+player deal.
Terem Moffi will cost the club €14millon plus €4million in add-ons, several performance clauses and a player deal which will see Bamba Dieng head in the other direction.
Neither side have made any officially statements on the deal, but everything rests with Moffi and his representatives.
The 23 year-old Forward has been in good form this season, scoring 12 goals in 18 Ligue 1 appearances.
He is expected to continue his development and with the likelihood of a profitable sealing, he could be handed a long term deal and guaranteed a crucial first team spot.
The former KV Kortrijk player joined FC Lorient two years ago and agreed a four-year deal.
Following the mild drama that ensued in the last transfer window between FC Midtjylland and AC Milan over 21 year-old midfielder Raphael Onyedika, the player has implied he feels no regrets and is already settling into life at Belgian side Club Brugge.
