Fulham manager Marco Silva has praised Alex Iwobi’s impact in the team’s narrow 1-0 victory against Luton Town on Saturday.

Iwobi, who transferred to Fulham from Everton this summer, made his debut in the 62nd minutes and immediately changed the dynamics of his side.

Luton Town had successfully kept Fulham’s attack at bay for the majority of the match until Silva decided to introduce Vinicius and Iwobi and just three minutes later, the Brazilian forward found the back of the net from close range after a well-executed play from Willian.

Iwobi showcased his play making skills during his 28-minute appearance, registering 35 touches and completing an impressive 87% of his 30 passes which made his manager excited about his new play maker and how he will improve the team.

“First-half, we lacked something dynamic to be honest to create chances,” Silva said.

“Second-half, some improvements, more dynamic and the two changes made a huge impact in the game.

“Nice to see Alex (Iwobi) come in and get his first minutes. They are going to improve for sure. The way we play is going to make them better players, for sure. We’re really happy to have them.”
