Cash strapped Sunshine Stars are downsizing to cut expenses and the first to go are the some backroom staff, non-coaching staff and three ball boys.
Sunshine Stars barely survived relegation last season in the NPFL and for the better part of the campaign had been neck deep in debt.
The Players were owed over six months in wages, a situation that forced their Coach, Gbenga Ogunbote resignation from his position after a string of bad result. He had blamed the team’s shambolic performance on lack of motivation.
In a statement issued by the Ondo Football Agency on September 29, the management of both Sunshine Stars and the women’s team, Sunshine Queens announced the dissolution of the Technical crews of both teams.
