Arsenal have reportedly leading the race to sign Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen who is expected to command nothing less than £100 million according to Italian outlets.
The striker is currently enjoying a stellar season, notching 19 goals in 21 Serie A appearances this season, and still leads the Capocanonniere race.
According to Italian outlet Rai, as reported by Tutto Napoli, Arsenal are the favourites to recruit Osimhen ahead of Manchester United and Chelsea, who have been earlier reported to be front runners for the signature of the 24 year-old.
French giants, PSG have also been touted as a likely destination as the two clubs share a good relationship having done a good number of business over the years including deals involving Edison Cavani, Ezequiel Lavezzi and most recently Fabian Ruiz.
Rai asserts that Napoli values Osimhen at least at £133 million, which would surpass Chelsea’s £106 million purchase of Enzo Fernandez in January and become a British record transfer.
But, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar were purchased for £159 million and £197 million, respectively, so he wouldn’t be PSG’s record acquisition.
