Samuel Kalu and Josh Maja both got 90 minutes in Bordeaux’s 2-1 comeback victory over AS Monaco in a Ligue Un clash at the Matmut Atlantique on Sunday.

Maja returned to the starting XI for the first time since October and for the first time since joining Les Girondins played the duration of a league game.

The rarity must be a sign of good things for Paulo Sousa’s side as they came from behind to snatch their sixth win of the season and climb to third in the log.

Neither, Maja nor Kalu, will take credit for the victory though as it was efforts from Pablo and Nicolas de Preville that helped them fight off Monaco after Algerian Islam Slimani gave the visitors the lead.

The on loan striker from Leicester City will however not see out the game as he was given his marching order in the 67′ to swing the advantage to the hosts – and they took it.

Per whoscored.com Maja scored a 7.1 rating and Kalu who was one of the better players on the day got a 7.5.

The latter made 5 successful tackle – an impressive number for a Winger – and was menacing on the other end trying out the Monaco defence four times from range.
