Rangers head coach, Abdu Maikaba expects the team to reach peak performance in the NPFL this season after a slow start.
The Flying Antelopes defeated Doma United 1-0 to earn their second victory of the campaign at the Awka City Stadium on Sunday.
Only a few weeks ago, Maikaba was turned on and attacked by the fans, who were not impressed with the club’s run of poor results at the start of the new campaign.
However, all the drama seems to have ceased as the Coach now looks to improve the team and compete in the course of the season.
βIt was a good game that would have seen more goals from my boys but for some good goalkeeping from the opposition goalkeeper,β Maikaba said after the game.
“I congratulate my team for this win as we try to overcome our difficult start.
βI am encouraged by this performance and believe that very soon we shall start picking points on the road,β he concluded.
