El Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri midfielder Babatunde Solomon has revealed to footballlive.ng that he chosed to remain with the club despite juicy offers from top clubs in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
The midfielder who joined the Warriors from Yobe Desert Stars stated that he refused the offers due to the love he has for the club and the respect and loyalty he feels towards the coach, Mohammed Babaganaru.
Speaking to footballlive.ng Babatunde said rejecting the offers was quite easy for him. “I decided to stay loyal with the coach because we are aiming to win the league together and that was discussed from the beginning of the league.
The midfielder also stated that apart from taking his contract issues serious, being loyalty is one of the quality he possesses. “Even if I will leave, it will be end of the season. And the coach is also like a father to me.”
El Kanemi Warriors currently sits second on the table in group B of the ongoing abridged format of the NPFL behind FC Ifeanyi Ubah on 18 points same at the leader and two points behind the resurgent Akwa United and will be hoping to make the Super Six championship playoffs at the end of the season.
