Ademola Lookman is a goal away from his highest league tally for a single season following Sunday’s performance for Atalanta.
Lookman scored Atalanta’s second goal in the Serie A game away against Empoli at the Stadio Carlo Castellani.
In his lone season at Leicester City, the Nigerian scored six goals – the most goals he has scored per season – in the 26 Premier League appearances.
On Sunday though, the Winger picked up an assist from Mario Pasalic in the 59th minute to double the lead from Hans Hateboer opening goal in the 32nd minute.
Atalanta could have grabbed second in the first half, but Teun Koopmeiners missed from the penalty spot.
Sunday’s win was the 8th for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side after 12 round of matches, bouncing back from last week’s 2-0 defeat at home to Lazio.
Meanwhile, Ademola Lookman did not get the entire minutes against Empoli, who also had Nigerian – Tyronne Ebuehi – in the team.
