Nigeria striker Junior Lokosa emerged hero of the day for Esperance Sportive de Tunis as his second-half goal secured all three points in the Ligue Professionnelle 1 clash with Stade Gabesien on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old’s 51st-minute strike crucially ensured a 2-0 win at the Stade Olympique de Radès.

Significantly, again, the goal marked an end to the striker’s scoring drought in the league, having failed to score all season until Wednesday.

In all competitions, however, the latest strike becomes his second of the campaign, having netted in a 3-2 triumph over Monastir in the Tunisian Cup last Saturday.

Saad Bguir scored a sweet free kick for the opener in the 10th minute of action.

Lokosa led the line upfront for the Beast of Africa in Radès.

Six minutes into the second half, the former Kano Pillars man announced his presence with a decisive goal after being set up by Adem Rejaibi

The win has taken Esperance to 52 points in first place on the league log, 11 places above Stade Gabesien.
