The 2018/19 NPFL season has – unofficially – be rated the most competitive in the competition’s history, by – guess who? Shehu Dikko; the Chairman of the League Management Company.
An abridged league which reached its climax in the Super 6 play-off tournament in Lagos and produced Enyimba – 8 times winners now.
Dikko insists the past season revealed a lot – technically – about the Nigeria top flight football division.
The league Chief has also suggested club owners might vote on the idea of adopting something similar to the structure from last season.
“Technically the previous league was okay; that was the most competitive league we have had in recent years and we are happy with that,” Dikko assured footballlive.ng.
“It is part of the review we will do when we meet with club owners to see what type of steps we will take going forward.
“But it’s quite exciting, it shows that we are very brilliant, it shows that we can get it right if we put all our hands and head to it, I’m brilliantly excitedly. It’s sad that they have to be winners and losers in the league.”
