The technical partnership signed a few years ago by both the Nigeria Professional Football League and the Spanish Laliga is set to be further strengthened by both parties, for the good of the game of football in the country.
This was made known by the parties in a press conference convened by the League Management Company, LMC, on the NPFL Laliga Under 15 Promises Tournament, at its corporate Head office in Abuja.
Speaking on the benefits of the pact, the Chairman of the LMC, Mallam Shehu Dikko, stated that a lot of benefits have been recorded since the partnership was signed, and a lot more benefits are being expected in the years ahead.
“Football in the country has seen a lot of improvement since the inception of the technical partnership and more benefits are yet to come, as both parties continue to work together.”
It would be recalled that over 200 grassroots coaches have been trained by way of the partnership signed in 2016.
Speaking on the immediate dividends of the ongoing Under 15 Competition, the Managing Director of Laliga Nigeria, Javier Del Rio, stated that scouted talented players would be given opportunities to go for trials with some selected Laliga clubs.
“As part of Laliga’s resolve to ensure the growth of our partnership, we have concluded plans to give talented players from this tournament, the opportunity to have trials with top Spanish clubs,” he said.
