Lille manager, Christophe Galtier has admitted that the absence of striker Victor Osimhen affected his team offensively in Friday’s French Ligue Un 2-0 defeat against champions Paris Saint Germain.
Osimhen missed the encounter at the Parc des Princes due to suspension and did not make Lille match-day squad for the first time this season.
Les Dogues had 13 attempts at goal but failed to convert anyone of them due to poor finishing.
Galtier, however, rued the absence of the Nigerian striker because the attack lacked “efficiency” he said after the game.
“Statistics are not important to me. We lacked efficiency. Offensively, we missed Victor Osimhen and Jonathan Bamba,” Galtier told reporters.
Mauro Icardi and Angel Di Maria goals condemned Lille to their fifth loss in the league.
Osimhen who has scored a total of nine goals in all competitions for Les Dogues this term, will return to the team against Ajax in the UEFA Champions.
