Leon Balogun right to criticize incompetent NFF – Amokachi

Leon Balogun’s revelations of the dissatisfaction with the administration of football in Nigeria has received the support of former Super Eagles player Daniel Amokachi.

Balogun had criticized the NFF leadership for lies over unpaid bonuses as well as the lack of infrastructure to ensure the development of talents in the Country or event for the convenience of National team players.
The 33 year-old who is one of the important members of Gernot Rohr’s team also alleged he has witnessed the intimidation of Super Eagles players and believes his opinion could get him frozen out of the team.
In support of the Nigeria international, Amokachi said on his Radio show “Bull’s Pit” that the grievances raised were genuine concerns.
‘I don’t believe Balogun has done anything unprofessional. He is a national team player and there are standards, if those standards aren’t met it is only right for someone to speak up.
‘He is one of the senior members of the team and he also players Abroad; He sees these things. How do you expect a player, who experiences on daily how the biggest football systems are operated to come back home and you can’t even get the hotel arrangements right.’
‘If he is punished for what he said or Rohr drops him from the team, it won’t be the end of his career.
‘He still has a club where he plays, but I can tell you easily the Eagles will struggle,’ the former Super Eagles forward and Coach said on Brila FM.
