Leon Balogun is the leader Super Eagles need against Ghana – Udeze

Ahead of the World Cup playoff games against Ghana, former Nigerian left-back Ifeanyi Udeze believes Leon Balogun could prove vital for the Super Eagles if he stays fit.

Udeze described Balogun as a leader with other qualities that could give Nigeria an edge in the tie.
This season, the 33 year-old CB has missed more than 10 games for his club Rangers due to injury. He was also ruled out of Nigeria’s AFCON campaign in January due to injury.
However he has since returned to action and even got a goal in the Europa League win against Crvena Zvezda.
At the weekend though, he was rested in Rangers’ Cup game against Dundee FC.
“If Leon Balogun is fit, then he is a joy to watch,” Udeze told FL. “He is commanding at the back and will also advance the ball; building up play from the back like a modern CB.”
“I really wish he’ll stay fit and is available for Nigeria in World Cup qualifiers against Ghana.”
