Kelechi Iheanacho led Leicester City’s attack when the Foxes marched on Southampton’s home ground at St. Mary’s on Saturday in the PL match.

Leicester had lost back to back games – to Manchester United and Arsenal – and needed a win to halt the gradual slide back down the relegation zone.

However, their in form Forward, Iheanacho, could not find break the Southampton defence, despite his scoring form of 4goals and 3assists in his last 6appearances.

The team that started the weekend at the base of the PL table, could take confidence in shutting out Chelsea last week, and they found the same grit on Saturday Brendan Rodgers’ side.

This time around though, the Saints didn’t have Paul Onuachu starting. The January signing was named as a substitute, and didn’t get minutes on the day.

While Onuachu’s adjustment period seems to be taking more time that initially hoped, Southampton’s new Boss had 20 year-old Argentine midfielder, Carlos Jonas Alcaraz, to thank for game’s outcome.

Alcaraz struck in the 35th minute, three minutes after captain James Ward-Prowse had seen his effort saved by the goalkeeper.

The victory moved Southampton off the base of the table into 29th place.
