Legendary Super Falcons Head Coach, Ismaila Mabo, Passes On

Former Super Falcons head coach, Ismaila Mabo has died, FL has gathered.

The news of Mabo’s death was confirmed to FL by the veteran Coach’s family, who disclosed he passed in the early hours of March 13.

FL also gathered, that he had been battling an illness, and was bedridden for quite a while before his demise.

Late Ismaila Mabo was the head coach who oversaw the Falcons’ best-ever finish at the FIFA Women’s World Cup when he guided them to the quarter-final of the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

He also led the Nigerian women’s national team to the 2000 Summer Olympics and four years later at the 2004 Summer Olympics.

He passed on at the age of 79.
