Everton coach Frank Lampard has applauded Alex Iwobi’s commitment to the team and the player’s growth.
Iwobi is arguably Everton’s most improved player since Lampard took over the club towards the end of last season.
He has been a crucial member of the first team and contributed immensely to their relegation survival last term.
In the same vein, on Saturday at Goodison Park, The Nigerian put in another good shift against Liverpool, running the game for Everton from his new deep lying midfield role.
“For me the thing with Alex was to make him feel like he had my confidence,”Lampard told BT Sport after the game on Saturday.
“Now Evertonians will tell you he was brilliant in the second half of last season and a big part of what we’re doing.”
Alex Iwobi has played every minute of Everton’s Premier League game this season, and has been deployed to three different positions by the manager.
The former Chelsea Manager also praised the Player’s ability to adapt to team from the tactical point of view.
“The beauty of him, which is not the norm with a modern player, if you tell him to play anywhere he’ll say ‘no problem’. He’ll understand it and he won’t be upset by it.”
Iwobi signed for Everton from Arsenal in a £27m deal three years ago.
