Lampard needs Iwobi and a Miracle to save Everton now

Everton’s season went from bad to worse as the team tethers ever so close to the relegation waters following the Boxing Day defeat to bottom side Wolverhampton Wanderers at Goodison Park.

The Toffees had taken the lead as early as the 7th minute through Colombian CB, Yerry Mina, but an equalizer in the first half (Daniel Podence 22′) and stoppage time goal (Rayan Aït-Nouri 90+5′) condemned Lampard’s side to a third consecutive league defeat.

Nothing seems to be working at the moment for the former Chelsea Boss, even the improvement of players like Alex Iwobi no seem too insignificant should it come down to the board considering his future.

It is likely now, that Lampard’s role as Everton boss will be under scrutiny and the £85,500,000 spent on Summer transfers has done little to stall their underwhelming performance yet again this season.

However, the Manager must feel he’s been dealt some kind of cruel hand by football, after watching his side dominate large parts of the game, only to throw it all away in the fifth minute of added time.

Everton are 17th in the standing with 14 point from 16 rounds of games, surviving the drop under the English coach will be nothing short of a miracle.
