Frank Lampard has agreed to take the Chelsea job and he reportedly wants Didier Drogba as part of his backroom staff.

Maurizio Sarri is on the verge of becoming Juventus coach and the Premier League club are expected to appoint Lampard as his replacement.

According to Duncan Castles, the Chelsea legend has spoken to Roman Abramovic on the phone and the Russian billionaire has assured him that he’ll have at least two seasons at Stamford Bridge to prove his worth.

Chelsea’s all-time top scorer will bring in his right-hand man Jody Morris as assistant coach. He’s also offered coaching roles to Drogba and Shay Given.

But there’s no spot for ex-teammate John Terry who’s a coach at Aston Villa.

Lampard has been subject to intense speculation since Derby County’s Championship Play-Off final defeat to Aston Villa in May.

Following his side’s defeat to Villa, he said: “I have had no conversations with anybody else. I am manager of this club and I am very proud to be manager of this club.

“I have a two-year contract. I have loved working here and I want to continue that, and I want to continue working and progressing with the club,” he added.
