Kwara United and co playing for more than just points – Balogun

Kwara United forward Kabiru Balogun says NPFL teams currently participating in the CAF inter-club competitions carry the responsibility of performing well not just for themselves, but also for the fate of the league.

In a chat with FL, Balogun insists the NPFL’s ranking and allotted spots in the Champions League and Confederation Cup are extra motivation for the current representatives.

Nigeria has 4 teams participating in both inter club competitions; Rivers United and Plateau United are in the Champions League preliminary round.

On the hand, Remo Stars and Kwara United are facing a similar path in the Confederation Cup.

Speaking on the current campaign and the prospects of Nigerian teams, Balogun appealed to fans across Nigeria to come out en mass and support the teams.
