Kwara United head Coach, Azeez Audu Mohammed has expressed the preparedness of his team for the 2022/2023 NPFL season.
The Coach, however, also admitted that Kwara United were in a rather difficult group.
Housed in Group A, Afonja Warriors will battle Nasarawa United, Gombe United, El Kanemi Warriors, Plateau United, Akwa United.
Enyimba, Bendel Insurance, Remo Stars and Shooting Stars complete the teams in the group for next season.
However, the team will play its home games at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan, as their ground in Ilorin failed to pass the IMC inspection check for the new league season.
Similarly, Azeez Mohammed’s side The Harmony boys will be looking to do better than last season in their pursuit of a continental spot. Kwara United were eliminated in the qualifying rounds of the CAF Confederation Cup.
“The group is very tough but we have nothing to do than to buckle up and be ready,” Coach Azeez was quoted by owosports.
“If you want to be a champion you have to face and beat anybody that comes your way and I think with the mentality from the boys they are ready to fight to get the needed results.”
“We are prepared, we’ve played some friendly matches the only thing we are working on now is how to get the players to play together and we are doing that. We are ready for the season, the only disadvantage we have now is that we are not going to play our home matches in Kwara.”
“Every club would love to play in front of their fans, even Barcelona will always want to play at the Camp Nou. The support from the fans is always a plus to every team, but we just have to adjust and face the reality.”
