Junior Ajayi Needs 10 More Days To Recovery Fully

Date:

The expected return to action by Al-Ahly of Egypt striker, Junior Ajayi will not come until another ten days, following what footballlive.ng learnt is the need for him to make full recovery from a career-threatening injury.

Ajayi has been out of action for almost three months, following an injury he copped in July, but his Egyptian club doctors do not want to rush him back and insist he should be watched closely for another ten days.

This verdict came at a point Ajayi’s close associates confirmed that the former youth international striker will be back playing again for the Cairo-based side sometime this month, after copping a knee ligament injury.

The 22-year-old striker got the injury in a 1-0 win over Township Rollers of Botswana in a CAF Champions League fixture on July 28.

He was initially ruled out for seven weeks but he failed to recover in time for the start of the Egyptian season and has not been part of their run to the CAF Champions League semi-finals.

However, a close confidante of the former 36 Lion FC of Lagos, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan and CS Sfaxien of Tunisia attacker says the lad will be back playing again at the end of this month.

Ajayi’s associate disclosed: “He is getting to the end of his rehabilitation programme and, all things being equal, he will return to the pitch in the next 10 days.

“He really missed playing football and working with his teammates on the pitch. He is eager to join them in training and compete on the pitch.”
